Halloween is around the corner and with all pumpkin beers abound, one is inclined to think that is all that is needed to celebrate a proper beer geek’s holiday. So yes, of course, we will start our list of 5 ways to celebrate Halloween with Beer with the plethora of pumpkin beers, but please, don’t stop there, read on and see how much more beer can help get you into the “spirit” of Halloween.

3 Pumpkin Beers 31. Rate Your Top 10 Pumpkin Beers
It seems like there are more pumpkin beers than ever this year. You can look at lists of “the best” everywhere from Beer Advocate to Thrillist, but our suggestion is to pick a few up of your own, invite some friends over and come up with your own “10 Best” list. A few that seem to be popular across the board- Cigar City’s Good Gourd Imperial Pumpkin Ale, Schlafly Pumpkin Ale and Pumking by Southern Tier.

Count Chocula 12. Try A (Non-Pumpkin) Halloween Beer

The brewing and cereal world is abuzz with the story of Black Bottle Brewery in Fort Collins Colorado buying up all the Count Chocula in town to brew up their Cerealiously Count Chocula beer. Say what you will, but this is one beer I’ve gotta try. Just thinking about it brings me back to the good old days of eating cereal while watching Saturday morning cartoons in my pjs and fighting over the prize in the box with my baby brother!

Candy-Corns23.  Pair Your Brews with Halloween Candy
You already know we are big fans of pairing chocolate with beer; and Halloween offers far greater pairing options than just chocolate. Victory brewing suggests pairing candy corn with Hopdevil, while Certified Cicerone Michael Agnew of a Perfect Pint likes his with Fullers ESB or an American or English IPA. Check out Michael’s article on pairing Halloween candy for more suggestions or buy a mega assortment bag at your local warehouse store and see how creative you can get!

If you haven’t seen one of these already, it is a very cool way to serve your pumpkin beer, plus you can use the same tap in a Watermelon for your 4th of July shindig! They are available from Kegworks.

beercans25.  Be The Beer You Always Wanted to Be
Oh, c’mon, you know you want to dress up for Halloween, so why not dress up like your favorite beer? Everyone loves beer! Granted, these would be far superior costumes if the cans were Dales Pale Ale or CCB Jai Alai, but you gotta admit, the flip-top hats are pretty cool 😉

Actually, if you combine all of these things into one event you might just end up with a beery cool Halloween party! Don’t forget to invite us! Cheers!
