Heads-Up to Our Europe-Bound Travelers 🍷🍺
If you’re joining us on one of our beercations or other European journeys — starting this month and into next year — here’s something important to know before you go.
Beginning 12 October 2025, the European Union will start introducing a new Entry/Exit System (EES) at its external borders. The rollout will happen gradually in different countries over about six months, with full implementation by 10 April 2026.
The EES will record non-EU travellers’ passport details, entry and exit dates, and biometric data (like a quick facial scan and fingerprints). It’s designed to make border crossings smoother in the future, but during the rollout not every border point will have the system active right away.
That means border checks could take a bit longer at some airports or crossings while the new system gets up and running, so we recommend allowing a little extra time before your flight or tour — just to be safe.
