Name: 15th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA
Style: Double IPA
Brewery: Great Divide Brewing Co. website
Country: USA
Region: Denver, Colorado
ABV: 10.00% Abv
How served: 22oz foiled capped bottle poured into a Maredsous glass.
I paired this beer with: Left over homemade vegetarian lasagna. Very good Paring, but not as good as with the Belgium Strong Pale Ale I had with it yesterday.
Tasted on: Tuesday March 9th, 2010.
Note: Limited & brewed only once for their 15th Anniversary. I can only hope they revisit this beer again for their 20th anniversary beer, or sooner. This is a Malty DIPA if there is such a thing. Maybe it is because this was bottled on July 27, 2009 and the hops have faded, but never the less this is a mighty fine drinking beer, especially at 10% abv.
On the Label & From their website: Based on our most award-winning beer, Denver Pale Ale, this copper-hued treat is a celebration of everything Great Divide does best. Plenty of malty sweetness provides a backdrop for earthy, floral English and American hops, while French and American oak round off the edges and provide a touch of vanilla. Thanks to everyone who’s supported us for the last 15 years – here’s to 15 more! 10.0% ABV.
Food Pairing : Bacon & blue cheese hamburger, barbecue ribs, Point Reyes blue cheese, sticky toffee pudding, caramel cheesecake.
