Name: Affligem Noël
Style: Belgium Strong Dark Ale
Brewery: Brouwerij Affligem website
Country: Belgium
Region: Opwijk
ABV: 9.00%
How served: 750ml Corked & caged bottle poured into an Affligem chalice.
My Overall Opinion: Very Good.
I paired this beer with: Chicken marinated with a lemon butter sauce and baked with spinach & broccoli.
Tasted on: Monday December 21, 2009.
Note: This was corked on 10/2007. This was very light and refreshing “Christmas” ale. It was not the best Christmas ale, but it is one I would have again.
On their label: The Affligem Abbey ales are being brewed in Belgium according to the original recipe since 1074. For the season we offer you our best wishes and an especially delicious ale. Rich and dark like our Double. Sumptuous and smooth like our Triple. Enjoy! Serve Affligem at cellar temp. (44-48°f). Christmas Ale Brewed with spices and caramel color added.
This is the 26th of my daily Christmas beer, on my quest for a Christmas beer a day from Thanksgiving to Christmas. There are now only 3 more beers until Christmas!
