We are so happy to report that this year’s Best of the Belgians Beer Fest rocked it! The festival is an exclusive event hosted by Boca Ballet Theatre, a nonprofit (charitable) cultural youth organization. All net proceeds go to support that organization and its outreach programs such as BBT4PD -a movement program for those living with Parkinsons’ disease, and 1st Step -an activity program for children at risk due to financial and cultural challenges.
The goal of the event was twofold- to support this valuable charitable organization and to increase the awareness of the great variety of delicious Belgian beers here in the US.
Getting to chat with special guests from Belgium – Kris Herteleer and his wife Els, from De Dolle Brouwers and Regnier De Muynck from Le Trappiste Brugge specialty beer bar, was a special treat for festival attendees, who also enjoyed live music, Belgian food, raffles and of course, some of the best beer available (and some special stuff not usually available!)

With the help of the Belgian-beer community and the organizers and sponsors: Boca Ballet Theatre, Barrel of Monks Brewing, Cavalier Distributing, WLRN Public Media and Bon Beer Voyage, the festival achieved and surpassed its goals, with attendee numbers increased from previous years and close to $20,000 raised for the beneficiary programs.
