Name: Kloster Jul
Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Brewery: Ølfabrikken website
Country: Denmark
Region: Roskilde
ABV: 9.5%
How served: 750 ml coked and caged bottle poured into a Chimay chalice.
I paired this beer with: nothing.
Tasted on: Saturday November 28, 2009
Note: This is a beer brewed with cherry juice and licorice root. The cherry juice is very mild in taste and is not as sweet as you would expect. This is a beer to be sipped by the fireplace, that is unless you live in S. Florida. Hunt down this beer!!!!
This is the 3rd of my daily Christmas/Winter beers which I will be having until Christmas. There is only 26 more beers until Christmas!
From their website: “Ølfabrikken Klosterjul is a complex Christmas beer inspired by trappist beer and brewed with cherries from Stevns and liquorice root. The colour is chestnutty with creamy foam on top.”
