Name: Dominion Millennium Ale (2008 vintage)
Style: English Barleywine
Brewery: Old Dominion Brewing Company website
Country: USA
Region: Dover, Delaware
ABV: 10.5% abv
How served: 12oz screw cap bottle poured into a La Mère Noël glass.
My Overall Opinion: Very Good.
I paired this beer with: nothing, just enjoying it as an after dinner drink.
Tasted on: Sunday July 07, 2013
Notes: Bottled on 02 01 08 & brewed and bottled at the old location in Ashburn, Virginia
The beer poured a murky deep copper color with an extremely thin white head which dissipated quickly laving no lacing on my glass.
The nose had notes of toffee, raisins, bread dough, honey, brandy and alcohol.
The taste was slightly sweet with toffee, caramel, honey and dried dark fruits. This was very sherry like with the warmth from the alcohol.
This beer has a medium to heavy body with a slick feel and a low carbonation level.
Overall this was a very enjoyable English Barleywine. There was some mild oxidation but did not distract from the overall experience and overall held up very well after 5 years.
