A once in a lifetime trip —- that we are eager to do again! This trip far exceeded our expectations. The tours and tasting experiences were exclusive and unique. The quantity and quality of the beer and food was remarkable. The barge was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. We enjoyed the variety of activities–from eating chef-prepared meals in our chateau and truffle-hunting in our small group to the more expansive visit to Carrieres du Lumieres. Most interesting, of course, were the tastings of wines in some exquisite settings in and near Chateauneuf-du-Pape, including at the chateau we stayed at.
Ruth and Mike’s knowledge of, and connections in the places we visit are what sets their tours apart. We also like the small group approach, as it makes it easy to get to know our fellow travelers. Dining experiences are first rate, as are accommodations. I also liked the fact that while this was a wine tasting tour, we had plenty of opportunities to sample local craft beer. With Ruth and Mike you will experience things you could never do on your own, or with a large group.
There is no way to see and do on your own all that Ruth and Mike organize for you on one of their trips. Their access to top-notch locations, experiences, and experts is unparalleled! Having all the logistics handled so you can just relax and soak in the beer, wine and sights, makes for the perfect vacation. It’s like traveling with your most efficient, and fun, friends!
Likely the best vacation of our lives!
I was expecting a fun, interesting, well-planned, high quality tour and my expectations were not only met, but exceeded. Ruth and Mike share their knowledge of and love for this beautiful area of France and have created this most wonderful “Provence Dream” itinerary. For me, this is what living in Provence is all about – okay, well-to-do living. If you enjoy wine, great food, a beautiful room in a Chateau overlooking vineyards & lavender, day trips to unique hilltop villages, cooking class with a French chef and many other unique stops and experiences are all perfectly planned out for you. Truffle hunting was my favorite activity. Johann did a great job teaching us, he was charming & funny plus served up a spectacular truffle tasting. More champagne, anyone?
Such a great trip! Ruth and Mike thought of everything and I was able to just relax and enjoy my vacation as everything was taken care of. The Chateau was so awesome! Couldn’t have asked for more. Can’t wait to book my next tour with Bon Beer Voyage!!
My wife and I have been on six commercial beer travel tours (week long) and dozens of shorter not-for-profit tours. BBV’s German River trip was the best organized, most activity packed, and most fun of any! We had a great time and will certainly travel with BBV again.
Traveling with Ruth and Mike is like traveling with old friends! We have gone on beer trips before with other companies and nothing compares to traveling with them! Our first trip to Germany was spectacular! The beer was outstanding and a great time was had by all!
This was the best beercation I’ve been on. The planning was second to none and they packed in so many tours, tastings, food and adventure in one week that is hard to imagine. Everything detail was well planned and thought out, and the execution was flawless. They added fun surprises along the way, keeping things even more fresh and exciting. We have been on several Beercations with Bon Beer Voyage and they are the best! Mike and Ruth go to great lengths to make these a great experience. They are fun and educational. They have a good balance between activity and free time. The meals are excellent, the beers are out of this world. And there are always a lot of laughs and joviality. You will not regret your decision to go on on of these trips.

The beercation of a lifetime, no joke! This is not your run of the mill tour group, tour guides or brewery tour. It is so much more unique and personal, the places you visit, the people you meet, the beers that delight your taste buds, the food that never ends, the beauty of all the history surrounding you. I loved every second of it!

This was by far the best vacation my wife and I have ever had! . The cities were incredible, as were the breweries, our fellow beercationers, food, and of course our great beer guides! So many memories we will never forget. Getting to drink the best beer in the world with new friends and our outstanding beer guides was awesome. Things will never be the same again! My beer palate has been expanded after the Amsterdam to Bruges barge cruise!! Mike & Ruth were easy going, fun people to “hang out with & explore the Dutch & Belgian beer culture. I felt like I had known them for years. The tour was beyond my already high expectations.
