Great trip. We learned a lot about beer and met a lot of great people. Fun to enjoy beer and see the small towns of Belgium and Northern France.
Tour was A ++ Everyday was an adventure with a beer chaser. The whole 7 days were amazing. The beer was nothing short of incredible. We were treated royally at every stop. Mike and Ruth have a gift to make everyone on the trip feel special. Thank you for a vacation I will never forget and can’t wait to take the next tour with you.
So glad I got to go. Even my most intense beer friends at home might be overwhelmed by taking this trip. Amazing beers from the famous breweries and small unknown to me. My appreciation of Belgium beers has been enhanced greatly. All of our local tour guides were really knowledgeable and answered questions deftly. The barge served as our floating hotel while we spent days traipsing the country side in search of incredible Belgium beer. We ate, drank and slept well for days with our wonderful hosts Ruth and Mike. Barge staff were simply over the top. We met some really fun fellow passengers that made the trip even better – all beer aficionados. Bucket list item: Beercation – check. Thanks for the memories. What a trip!
The Belgium and France Beer Bon Voyage was fantastic! My wife and I really enjoyed the whole thing. The barge made it great since there was no need for daily packing / unpacking. The food and accommodations were excellent. Our hosts and tour directors, Ruth and Mike, made the trip all the more enjoyable with their knowledge and enthusiasm. We felt this passion for beer excellence and knowledge flowed to the group, and made it more cohesive. We learned a lot about Belgian and French beers. We were able to try beers and styles we had not experienced before. We met a large number of dedicated brewers who were so enthusiastic about their products. I would recommend this trip for anyone who likes Belgian style beers, or wants to learn more about them.
We aren’t really tour group people. But this tour gave us access to breweries that are otherwise inaccessible and no worries about drinking and driving. This was the beer tour of a lifetime. We have visited a few breweries in Europe and the US but never with the intensity and enthusiasm of this trip.
Our tour was such a fun and unique experience. The brewery tours have a great balance of history and brewery identity along with their take on their unique brewing process, and there is ample time to taste many local beers. Most of the tours that you get at breweries would be extremely difficult if not impossible to get on your own or through another source. Ruth and Mike are amazing tour guides and feel like they are a part of your family from the moment you meet them. They know these brewers and locals well and ensure their guests get all kinds of special treatment! I’m already looking at their upcoming schedule for my next tour!
I had high expectations leading up to this trip and found they were all exceeded once I went. Great planning and execution led us to a wide array of breweries/brewpubs offering excellent beer and great food. Throw in the additional sightseeing we had and you end up with an ideal vacation. I can’t wait to experience it again.

This was a delightful way to experience the coast of California and many breweries. All the breweries we visited treated us as queens and kings. I definitely felt like I was given the royal treatment from private tours to a special birthday celebration. I will definitely be going on another Bon Beer Voyage tour!
This was a good way to visit many breweries, try some great beer, do some sightseeing and meet new friends. The fact that all of the reservations and accommodations, as well as many meals were taken care of (as well as the driving!), made for a relaxing vacation. Mike and Ruth are very knowledgeable, organized, friendly and fun. I thought they did a great job at balancing the beer tours, tastings, time on our own, and some sightseeing. I was pleasantly surprised with the food selections, also. I appreciated that all the beer tours were geared to our group’s interests. I would, and have, recommended their trips to anyone interested in learning about good beer
Our beercation was a first class experience! This vacation was stress-free and exceeded all of our expectations. The wonderful beers, delicious food, accommodations, and new friends made this a trip we won’t soon forget.
Plenty of room in the common areas. Meals were better than I had expected. The staff was fantastic and went out of their way to help when hubby didn’t feel up to dinner
Too much food…just kidding! Beds were amazingly comfortable, and the lovely touches were all appreciated.
The Fiep was very nice. Capt. Harrie and crew were awesome and the ship was in great condition. This boat is a great setup. Rooms were larger than anticipated. Always clean. Even the bathroom was decent size for where we were. Food was excellent.
The way the trip was planned, to me was the best. You guys do a great job with amazing prep work to make it an unforgettable experience. I didn’t have to worry about anything at all. It was just so easy to come, drink and have a blast and meet some amazing people. I’d highly recommend this to anyone just starting to love beer, or a seasoned beer pro!
Great group of people. Loved DC. Lots of beer and fun. No driving. Easy to get to and from airport and the hotel. Love traveling with you guys and leaving the tour guiding to someone else!

Loved the tour and can’t wait for the next one. Mike and Ruth go above and beyond making the trip both unique and informative – from the walking tour (with beer facts thrown in) to the private brewery tours and beer inspired dinners, I experienced DC in a new and fun way with a group of like-minded people from various parts of the country.
It was incredible from start to finish! I can’t say enough about how wonderful a time we had. For those beer-lovers who are like me and typically plan out every minor detail for vacations, it’s really nice to go on a vacation in which everything is already planned out for you. You are able to sit back and enjoy. I was especially grateful for the emails detailing out the itinerary and the route to take from the airport to the hotel – thank you!!
